Discovered in 1866, the onsen waters of Jozankei led to the development of a onsen town, now home to dozens of hotels, restaurants, and shops. Some hotels offer day-use access to their onsen for a fee, typically ranging from JPY500 to JPY2,000. Public onsen facilities are also available, including Hoheikyo Onsen, Kokoro no Sato Jozan Footbath and Lounge, and Kappa Kazoku no Gankake Teyu (handbath).
